Tuition Information

Probably the most often asked question has to do with what does it cost (tuition and fees) to come to school and do we give a kit or is a kit included in those costs.

The cost includes the cost of texts and tuition as well as the admissions fee.  It does not include the cost of a kit.  Our philosophy on kits is very different that a lot of other schools.  We are not in the beauty supply business.  Yes, we could go out and buy the tools and supplies you will need but we think you are the best person to decide what quality tool you can afford at this time, etc.  Further, if you were to price the kits that most other schools provide at a cost, you will find that part of the cost includes a charge for assembling the stuff for you.  Certainly there is nothing wrong with someone being compensated for being your purchasing agent, if you invest your own time to do this, you will save money.  However, if you don’t have the resources to pay for your needed supplies, don’t panic,  If that is the case, it is possible to arrange for us to pick up the needed supplies and tools you will need for each unit of instruction and pay for them from anticipated financial aid over the length of the program to pay for the supplies if you qualify for financial aid.

We are often asked why our tuition so much lower than many of our competitors.  This seems strange when you consider that we (1) have a great reputation for training among area salons, (2) offer one of the most expensive and advanced educational curricula available, (3) our students have access to all our training support material on the web when they enroll in our school, (4) in addition, include some add on training programs in building a client base, etc., as part of our program, (5) our students consistently score well in national and international hair contests, and (6) our instructors have no administrative responsibilities (front desk, financial aid, etc.) not related to teaching.

The fact is that we charge what we think is a fair tuition given our cost structure.  We don’t have any expenses related to managing more than one campus (we have and only want one great school), or adding new campuses, (our school has earned an national reputation as a result of the superb performance of our students in national and international hair contests), and we spend very little money on advertising (no bill boards, TV, radio, mailers, etc), relying on our reputation to bring us prospects and students.

Another thing that makes us very different that most other cosmetology colleges is that our tuition is charged on a payment period basis.  Payment periods are either 450 hours (15 weeks, like a traditional semester) or 600 hours (12 weeks like a traditional quarter).  What does this mean to you?  If for some unforeseen reason, you are unable to complete your education, the charges you will owe will be based only on percentage of the payment period you are in.

If you are serious about a career in this industry, we think you owe it to yourself to visit our campus.  We have students attending or who have attended from many countries around the world and most of the 48 contiguous states.  We offer a world-class education here in Greenville, South Carolina and are sincere educators.  If you are ready to commit to a great program of study and have self discipline, you will most likely choose our school.
