SOUTH CAROLINA STUDENTS EXCEL AT INTERNATIONAL HAIR EVENT

Orlando, Fl, CStudents attending Greenville=s ACADEMY of HAIR TECHNOLOGY participated the student contests offered  at the PBA (Professional Beauty Associations) -NCA (National Cosmetology  Association) Premiere Talent Search Student Mannequin Competitions held on Sunday, June 5th at the Premiere Orlando, held in the Orange County Convention Center.

Competitions are open exclusively to cosmetology students from around the nation, Puerto Rico,and Canada.  The categories include:  (1) Ladies’ Trend Cut, Color & Style, (2)  Long Hair Bridal, and (3) Fantasy Inspired by Nature.

These competitions showcase the skill and ingenuity of the beauty industry’s up-and-coming stars. PBA | NCA is proud to support such talented stylist.

This highly respected event showcased the best students in the field of cosmetology from around the United States. Each contest showcased the student=s creativity, skill and ingenuity while performing under pressure filled-timed contests.

Students attending the Academy of Hair Technology, in Greenville, SC dominated the contests capturing two of the three first place (gold) medals.  Mary Margaret King won first place in Long Hair Bridal and Dara Wilson won first place in Fantasy Inspired by Nature

The competitors were well aware of the College=s history of success in national competitions before entering, but they really had no idea of what to expect.  Their determination to do well in these contests helped them increase their over-all confidence in their abilities and all agreed they learned much more than they had thought as a result of their hard work and tough training
